Hello, I am Brandon Watley Owner and Builder for WatleyWoodCrafts. I started woodworking when I was 16. I learned most of my skills from my Dad and Grandpa who are both very well-known woodworkers in our smalltown Bastrop, TX. I started out building simple barnwood projects like coffee tables, gun cabinets and other “basic” projects. My first big break was Cornhole Boards, a family friend wanted a set of boards made and that’s what I did, little did I know that was the start of my woodworking business journey. That first set of Cornhole boards led to a huge dominoe effect over the course of 6 years. Throughout High School and College, I made Cornhole Boards for a job and I was good at it. In 2020 I started Shuck it Cornhole, in the first 2 years of SIC (Shuck it Cornhole) I have made close to 300 sets for customers ranging from Bastrop to Michigan and Florida. In 2022 I took a chance on myself by finishing my College Associates degree in Business and purchasing an AVID 4’x8′ CNC machine. This Choice has drastically changed my life and the projects I am able to create for my wonderful customers and supporters. With the CNC I have started to make cutting boards, welcome signs, engravings, cornhole boards, planning large wood slabs and much more. That is the story of how I got to this point and I can’t forget the most important part which is the support of all my customers, without them there wouldn’t be a WatleyWoodCrafts. I am ready to see what happens next for WWC and how it will grow in the future!
